Parts supplier connections
Connect your OEM, aftermarket, and budget parts accounts so one search returns live pricing and availability inside the repair order.
Parts supplier connections
The moment you connect your suppliers, parts ordering in Pista stops being a tab-switching scavenger hunt. Instead of pricing a job across three vendor websites, you search once inside the repair order and see every connected supplier at the same time, sorted by quality tier with live cost and availability. This article walks you through linking your accounts and getting the most out of them.
Before you start
Gather the login or API credentials for each supplier you buy from. The more accounts you connect, the more options show up on every search, so it is worth pulling them all together for one sitting.
Connect a supplier
- Open Shop Settings, then Parts and Suppliers.
- Click Connect supplier and choose your account from the list.
- Enter your account credentials or API key.
- Pista validates the connection and starts returning live results right away.
- Repeat for each supplier you use.
Good to know: Connecting more than one supplier is the entire point. With several accounts live, a single search can show OEM from one vendor, aftermarket from another, and budget from a third, all on the same screen with real prices.
Understand the quality tiers
Every result is sorted into one of three tiers so you always know what you are quoting.
- OEM — factory part, dealer-grade fitment and warranty. Best for fussy late-model vehicles and customers who want original.
- Aftermarket — quality replacement brands at a better cost. The everyday choice for most repairs.
- Budget — the lowest landed cost that still fits. Right for older vehicles, fleet work, or a price-sensitive customer.
Set your default and let intelligence pick
Pista's parts intelligence recommends a smart default for each part based on the strategy you set.
- Go to Parts and Suppliers, then Tier strategy.
- Choose your house default tier, for example Aftermarket.
- Optionally set an auto-discount rule so the engine surfaces the lowest in-tier option automatically.
When you add a part, the recommended line is pre-selected, and you switch tiers with one click whenever the job calls for it.
Order without leaving the RO
- In a job, click Add part and search.
- Compare the OEM / Aftermarket / Budget columns by cost, brand, and availability.
- Pick your option. Pista applies your markup and sets the sell price.
- Place the order from the same screen and Pista logs it on the ticket.
Tips
- Watch availability, not just price. The cheapest part that ships in three days can cost you the car if the customer is waiting.
- Show the customer the choice. Quoting OEM next to aftermarket on one screen makes the value conversation easy and builds trust.
- No suppliers connected yet? You can still add parts by hand. See Adding parts to a ticket and the full breakdown in Supplier sourcing and parts intelligence tiers.
