Tires and batteries

Tires and batteries move fast and carry their own quirks: size and fitment matter, they come with required state fees, and the old ones need disposal. Pista handles all of it on the RO so a tire sale or a battery swap is a few clicks, not a math exercise.

Quote a set of tires

1. In the job, click Add part and search by tire size (for example, 225/65R17) or by the OEM fitment for the decoded vehicle.
2. Compare options across your connected suppliers with live cost and availability. See Supplier sourcing and parts intelligence tiers.
3. Set the quantity to 4 (or whatever the job calls for). Pista applies your markup to each tire.
4. Add the labor: mount and balance, plus TPMS service if the vehicle has sensors. Labor times come from MOTOR. See Labor and MOTOR Data.

Tip: Bundle the extras customers expect on a tire job, road hazard, alignment check, valve stems, and TPMS rebuild kits, as their own lines. It reads as a complete quote and protects your margin instead of giving work away free.

Tire fees and disposal

Tires carry charges beyond the rubber:

• Tire disposal fee for hauling away the old tires, set per tire.
• State tire fee where your state requires one.
• TPMS service kit parts when you reseal sensors.

Set disposal and state fees once in your shop settings and Pista adds them automatically by quantity. See Tax and Shop Fees.

Quote a battery

1. In the job, click Add part and search battery or the group size for the decoded vehicle.
2. Pick the option that fits. Pista applies your markup and sets the sell price.
3. Add the replacement labor, plus any battery registration or programming time for vehicles that require it.

Battery core and disposal

A battery almost always carries a core deposit, since the old battery is returned for recycling.

1. Confirm the core charge on the battery line. It passes straight through to the customer.
2. When the old battery goes back, credit the core. See Cores and core deposits.
3. Add a battery disposal or environmental fee if your state requires one.

Good to know

• Decode the VIN first. Correct fitment for tire size and battery group size depends on the exact vehicle.
• Sell tires and batteries in matched sets and pairs where it makes sense. Pista's quantity pricing keeps the line clean.
