Vehicle service history on a ticket

The fastest way to look like the smartest shop in town is to remember the car. When a vehicle comes back, Pista ties this visit to every repair order it's had at your shop, so you can see what you did last time, what you recommended, and what's due now — without digging through paper or a customer's memory.

Open a vehicle's history

1. From the repair order or the customer's profile, open the vehicle.
2. Select the History tab.
3. You'll see a list of past repair orders for this vehicle, newest first, each with date, mileage, and the work performed.
4. Tap any RO to open the full ticket — jobs, parts, labor, and notes.

Because history follows the vehicle record, it stays intact even if the car changes owners, as long as it's the same vehicle.

What history makes easy

1. Don't redo covered work. See if that part was already replaced and whether it's still inside your shop's warranty window before you quote it again.
2. Recommend the next service. Last visit's mileage plus today's tells you what's come due — fluids, belts, brakes — so you make a real recommendation, not a generic upsell.
3. Answer questions on the spot. "When did you last do my brakes?" becomes a five-second look, not a callback.
4. Show your work. Past inspection findings and notes back up today's recommendation when the customer hesitates.

Tip: Before you build a big job, glance at history. Catching that you already replaced the same part six months ago — and honoring your warranty on it — earns far more loyalty than rebilling it.

Good to know

• History is only as clean as your vehicle records. If a car was entered twice, its visits split across both records. Keep one record per vehicle and merge duplicates when they happen.
• Decode by VIN to match history reliably. A consistent VIN is what links repeat visits to the same car. See Decoding a VIN.
• History shows the work done at your shop. It isn't a national service record, so a car serviced elsewhere before its first visit starts its Pista history with you.
