Labor and MOTOR Data

Viewing MOTOR repair procedures and specs

Pull OEM-grade repair procedures, torque specs, and fluid capacities from MOTOR right on the job so your techs work from data instead of memory.

Viewing MOTOR repair procedures and specs

Labor times tell you how long a job takes. MOTOR repair information tells your tech how to actually do it: the procedure steps, the torque values, the fluid types and capacities, and the specs that keep a repair right the first time. Pista surfaces this data on the job so your team works from the book instead of from memory or a random forum post.

What you can pull from MOTOR

Depending on the vehicle and operation, MOTOR data can include:

  • Repair procedures: the step-by-step method for the operation.
  • Torque specifications: how tight each fastener should be.
  • Fluid types and capacities: what goes in and how much.
  • Maintenance schedules: factory-recommended service intervals.
  • Component locations and specs: where things are and what they should measure.

Open the data on a job

  1. Make sure the RO vehicle is decoded by VIN so the data matches the exact configuration.
  2. Open the job or labor line you are working on.
  3. Click Procedures or Specs (the Driven by MOTOR info action) on the line.
  4. Pista shows the procedure and specs for that operation on that vehicle.

Because the lookup is keyed to the decoded vehicle, the torque value and capacity you see are for the engine on the lift, not a generic average.

Pull the same procedures and torque specs on your phone in the bay with the Pista mobile app.

Why this matters at the bay

  1. Fewer comebacks. Correct torque and the right fluid the first time means the car does not come back.
  2. Faster onboarding. A newer tech can work a job they have not memorized.
  3. Cleaner write-ups. A writer can explain why a job takes what it takes, straight from the procedure.

Tip: Keep the specs open on your phone in the bay. The Pista mobile app shows the same MOTOR procedures and torque values, so your tech does not have to walk back to the front-counter screen mid-job.

Good to know: Repair information availability depends on the vehicle and the operation. Very new model years or unusual configurations may have limited data. When that happens, fall back to the OEM service portal for that brand, then note any shop-specific steps in the job so the next tech has them.
